Traveling Yields Unforgettable Experiences

Traveling Yields Unforgettable ExperiencesAre you a fan of traveling? Think about it, why do you love to travel so much? Why do some people spend a lot of money just to experience the thrill of going to new places and meeting new people? Isn’t there a better way to spend the money? Perhaps there is, but there are also loads of reasons why spending money for travel is worth it. For one, it is a learning experience as you get to meet new cultures and learn about different places. But there’s more.

If you travel around the world, you can create endless memories. You will remember all the places you have been to, because these are extraordinary experiences that you don’t get to witness on a day to day basis. If you went to Israel, there are great experiences there that you will always remember. You can cruise on the Caribbean and really not forget about that experience. If you go to Paris, you would really want to visit the Eiffel Tower that everyone in this world knows about. So that’s a memorable experience as well.

If you want to travel during the summer, it is best to buy your tickets as early as now, or as soon as possible. A lot of people will be traveling during the summer and you might miss out on the discounted seats which are most likely selling out right now.

US State Department Travel Alert for Great Britain Issued

US State Department Travel Alert for Great Britain Issued

If you are an American and you plan to travel to Great Britain, the United States government tells you to be careful going there because of some terrorist threats that the country is facing. Indeed, United Kingdom has had received some terrorist threats which risk not only the lives of its residents but also foreigners that come there in huge number.

This travel warning was issued by the United States State Department towards all American travelers planning to go to the United Kingdom. This is in light of intelligence reports pointing to potential terroristic activity in that country, particularly in public transportation systems. In fact, the State Department stated that the level of terrorists threat in the United Kingdom is continuingly high.

However, the State Department clarifies that this is not a travel warning. In fact, it is indeed a travel alert from the State Department. This travel alert implies that for as long as the trip is not an essential one, it’s best that you don’t go there at all. This is the same travel alert that was issued last Saturday for Egypt because of the confusion and chaos that is going on in that country as well. Vigilance among travelers is required.

Rick Steves Marvels about his Travels

Rick Steves Marvels about his TravelsRick Steves is a travel writer, and he has been to more places than the majority of the people in the world. Aside from being a travel writer, he is also a TV personality and a radio host. He recently had a free lecture which was attended by 1,600 people at the IPFW Omnibus Lecture series. The title of his talk is “Perspectives on Adventure, Culture, and a Changing World.” There would have been more people, but around 100 people were turned away from the lecture.

Those who were unable to enter the Auer Performance Hall, located at the Rhinehart Music Center, and the location of Rick Steves talk, had to watch from the televisions posted outside the location. During his talk, he mostly talked about all his travels and travel adventures. He originally hails from Seattle. His travels have given him a wider perspective about different cultures. In fact, he says that the best souvenir you can get is a broader perspective.

Rick Steves pointed out that Americans live in a country where the media is hysterical. Most of the places that are shown as dangerous really aren’t, according to him. Although what happened in Egypt last week was enough to discourage himself from going there, he is very happy that he has been in Iran. He said Americans should travel like temporary locals and talk to locals a lot.

Travel Lessons from Turmoil in Egypt

Travel to EgyptGeopolitics has learned a lot from the tumultuous uprisings that have occurred in Egypt. Aside from this, there are lessons that have also been learned in the part of tourists. That is, if you can go to a place you’ve always wanted to go, you should go there while you still have the chance. Obviously, with all the pyramids and other tourist attractions in Egypt, tourism is a strong industry in that country, but because of the political turmoil, tourism has almost died in Egypt, resulting to millions of losses in revenue.

For the first time in nearly a long, long while, the tourist spots in Egypt have been deserted. Truly, political revolutions can happen at any time. It doesn’t wait for your own personal plans to set aside. It doesn’t wait for that gap between your college life and your work life, nor does it wait for your scheduled trip for retirement. While these world heritage sites are always there, sometimes they are unavailable due to governments that are corrupt.

Travel is just a little part of the entire issue and its consequences, but it is an important part of the puzzle for many people in Egypt and millions around the world. This has happened a lot of times in the world tourist map, where some places used to be tourist destinations, but turned into havoc areas, and vice versa.

Road Travel in Tennessee Becomes Dangerous due to Snow

Road Travel in Tennessee Becomes Dangerous due to SnowIn north central and northwest Tennessee, snow fell and left 6 inches of the white substance as the winter traveled east. It started with just between 2 and 3 inches of snow during 2 p.m., at least in the location of Montgomery County. These events have proven to be devastating, as around 5 or 6 school buses slid off from these snowy and slippery roads. This is according to Ted Denny of the Office of the Montgomery County Sherriff.

One of those buses is a Metro school bus who tried to go uphill on Cromwell Drive. As it did so, it slipped. Students from Percy Priest who were inside that bus had to be taken home by a transportation officer. Transportation supervisors also had to take home several students from the Joelton Middle School because of similar incidences. These bad roads have indeed caused some serious problems.

Other accidents include the one involving two cars which slid down the Interstate 24 road which is located west bound at the 22.6 mile marker. One even flipped upside down on the car’s roof last Monday in the morning. It is expected that another round of snow will fall on Wednesday and Thursday.
